Choosing the right fencing
It can be difficult to understand the right fencing you need for your site or project. The various accessories and stabilisation options can make it confusing to know the right path to take.
This is where we can help you. By following this short guide, you can get a quick understanding of what you might need. But don’t worry we have specialists who can talk through your issues to find a solution also.
The first thing to consider is where you are planning on having the fence located.
Two main options to consider are the following:
Remote Location: Standard Fence Panel
Highly Pedestrianised Area: Anti-Climb Fence Panel
Standard Fence Panel: This panel has a wide mesh aperture as there is little need for protecting an area from pedestrians when using this panel, meaning the chances for the public to climb over the fence are lower.
Anti-Climb Panel: This panel has a narrower mesh aperture to prevent the public from being able to climb over the panel and damage it overall. This specification is required due to the HSG 151 recommendations.
The two options can vary in construction, the standard fence panel is available in either a light or heavy-duty square frame. With the lighter frame being the cheaper option. The anti-climb fence panel is available in either a light-duty frame, a heavy-duty frame, or a heavy-duty round-top frame. Overall, the round-top option is the far superior panel.
Once you have decided which fence panel is right for you it then comes down to the type of support or stability you will require. Harsh wind conditions or vandalism can play a huge part in the outcome of your fencing. Ensuring a secure site or project using stabilisation and strong couplers can be the difference between a successful and professional-looking site or a dangerous and expensive outcome.
